Role Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical schematics for industrial automation systems and control panels
  • Develop bills of material (BOMs)
  • Understand and apply company design standards, project methodologies, tools, and templates
  • Collaborate with senior electrical designers as part of a team on larger, complex projects
  • Collaborate with fabrication shop to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing, answer questions about product installation, and identify opportunities for process and quality improvement
  • Collaborate with project management team to ensure expectations are met for project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Solicit feedback from manufacturing to improve internal standards to drive improvements in quality, efficiency, and manufacturability

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD 3D Tools to work with and manipulate component footprints
  • Basic knowledge electricity, how electrical systems operate, and industrial automation components
  • Experience creating basic designs for electrical systems including enclosure sizing, power distribution model, variable frequency drive (VFD) and motor control, PLC and IO selection.
  • Basic understanding of UL and NEC standards
  • Basic understanding of heat load calculations and cooling requirements for electrical panels
  • Key strengths include: Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills, time management, collaboration, self-directed
